They're mechanics, style enthusiasts, and individualists. Each one of their bikes is a work of art unto itself. Customisers experiment with colours, shapes and materials to create one-of-a-kind motorcycles. The distinctive touches they put on the R nineT will thrill any custom bike enthusiast. On the following pages we'll show you some of these custom bikes and tell the story of how they were created.

DA#4

Diamond Atelier and K1X.

This is what happens when a custom motorcycle maker and a basketball brand team up: They create a custom R nineT that is causing a stir in the café racer scene. Custom bike creator Diamond Atelier and basketball label K1X both originate from Munich, so it was clear from the beginning that a BMW model would serve as the starting point for the DA#4.

They chose the brand-new R nineT, which Diamond Atelier customised to actualise K1X's vision for an aggressive, low-slung bike that would hint at the label's upcoming fall/winter collection. The logos are made of silver and have been accessorised with a real diamond in the Diamond Atelier style. Further highlights include an air inlet running through the handcrafted fuel tank and reworked high-end electronics. CNC-machined one-off pieces like the top triple clamp or alternator cover are branded with the iconic K1X leaf complete this masterpiece.

The brand-new DA#4 will be showcased at Glemseck 101, where it will be raced on the 1/8 mile Essenza Sprint.

Heritage

R 18 Transcontinental

The R 18 Transcontinental offers you exclusive and luxurious travelling. As a member of the R 18 family it represents BMW Motorrad’s tradition and is deeply rooted in the here and now: its unmistakeable front end with the tall windscreen and the mighty Big Boxer promise a comfortable, powerful ride for miles. The automatic load compensation feature accurately adapts the chassis to the load applicable to the motorcycle. And thanks to it being prepared for customising you can exactly define your R 18 Transcontinental according to what you will discover on every trip: yourself. Simply put: classic #SoulFuel.

Heritage

R 18 Classic

The R 18 Classic is a modern cruiser with a nostalgic sense of BMW design. It reminds one of the beginnings, of the first cruisers suitable for touring. It also invokes timeless marks of our motorcycle history, such as with the white double lining found on the R 18 Classic First Edition. The heart of the machine is obviously the boxer with the most displacement we have ever built. It stands for relaxing tours and pure enjoyment.

Heritage

R 18 Roctane

The R 18 Roctane is a synonym for pure nonchalance. Appearance: Bagger. Comfort: touring motorcycle. Personality: custom factory hot rod. It is driven by the powerful big boxer engine. Ride it and every country road turns into Route 66. Its style is unconventional: black and matt – that’s what joy can look like. At least for those who bring #SoulFuel to life. Bagger outline, dragster seat and midi ape-hanger demonstrate that this is not a bog-standard bike. Want even more rock 'n' roll? The bike ready for customising. All you need to do is own it!
