BMW Motorrad Malaysia Nightfuel Putrajaya 2018
BMW Motorrad Malaysia introduced our BMW Motorrad Nightfuel events three years ago as a cooling late evening event and discovered it was exactly what the Malaysian motorcycle community had been searching for. BMW Motorrad Nightfuel has since grown into a twice annual gathering of friendly owners and enthusiasts who love to share all things BMW Motorrad. The first BMW Motorrad Nightfuel of 2018 was laid out on the Putrajaya Recreational Airport with the lights of the nation’s capital reflecting on the still waters of Putrajaya Lake, around 800 motorcycles from all over Malaysia filled the length of the airstrip. Riders came to enjoy a fun, casual evening together, with the added fascination of seeing the latest BMW Motorrad products and technological developments.
Throughout the evening guests were entertained with fashion show, interactive games and giveaways on the main stage while live music kept spirits high well into the evening. Within the pavilion were a number of exclusive BMW Motorrad models including the incredible and rare BMW HP4 Race and a beautiful example of an R 1200 RT ‘Spezial’ edition with hand crafted paint work.
A Social Gathering with Food and Live Music
Many guests like to start their BMW Motorrad Nightfuel evening with a visit to the buffet. Local and western dishes were available under the well-lit marquee, plus fancy cakes for dessert and coffee served by Illy for those with a long ride home ahead of them.
Attendees were treated to a sneak peek into the BMW Motorrad 2018 riding gear and style collection, with select items being modelled by the Motorrad team and BMW Motorrad Malaysia’s own Malaysia Superbike Championship sponsored rider, Nasarudin Mat Yusop taking to the catwalk to show off the leather Double R Suit and race helmet.
Energetic and uplifting live music was provided by the excellent local band Nine Lives who entertained the crowd and encouraged some epic group sing-a-longs throughout the night. For those less comfortable with their singing voice, there was still a chance to get up on stage with a host of lucky draws and interactive games giving a chance to win a wide variety of official BMW Motorrad accessories and merchandise. One highlight came from the female teams’ valiant attempt to reconstruct a S1000RR puzzle in the fastest time, drawing loud cheers of encouragement from the watching guests.
BMW Motorrad Nightfuel is the place to find special surprises! Displayed among the full range of current BMW models at the event was the ultra-exclusive, super light, track only BMW HP4 Race, including details on how potential buyers could secure the opportunity to test ride one of these 215Hp, carbon fibre framed and wheeled machines at the Phillip Island Moto GP circuit in Australia.
For those that prefer luxury touring with a unique touch, we displayed a stunning example of the BMW R 1200 RT with ‘BMW Spezial option 719’ paintwork in Blue Planet Metallic with hand brushed silver iconic BMW pin striping details. BMW Motorrad Spezial is a new option range of more exclusive options and components to give your BMW Motorrad a very special appeal. Available are special paint colours, billet aluminium accessory parts, different wheel designs and upholstery colours. BMW Spezial is available for certain models only (currently R 1200 RT, K1600 GT/L/GTL/B versions and R nineT derivatives).
A Sense of Community
As part of the BMW Motorrad Malaysia Community Project, a silver R NineT fuel tank was on display at the event, where everyone was invited to sign their name, then the signatures sealed under clear lacquer after the event. BMW Motorrad Malaysia is making this unique “BMW Motorrad Community Malaysia” fuel tank available for R nineT owners, enabling them to carry our combined spirit of community with them wherever they ride. The BMW Motorrad Community Malaysia fuel tank is currently available to all R nineT owners to borrow including free-of-charge installation and secure damage free storage of your original tank. To carry the tank on your R nineT, just head to your nearest dealer for more information.
