Dynamics for the eye as well: the design.
Dynamics and comfort, these characteristics of the K 1600 GT are also reflected in the design: The Duolever front suspension, the xenon headlight with Adaptive Headlights, the powerful 6-cylinder engine and the frame make the high-quality overall image really stand out. The front and side view are athletically and sharply depicted and ensure a sporty, streamlined appearance. The 6-in-2 muffler reflects the potential of the 6-cylinder engine both visually and acoustically.

First-class six-pack: the technology.
Technically at the highest level, the equipment fitted as standard on the K 1600 GT leaves nothing more to wish for: ABS Pro, which ensures safe braking even when leaning, the innovative xenon headlight and the multi-controller are just a few of the extras fitted. New to standard production: the dynamic ESA. The chassis recognises and controls the damping action and the angular rate sensor and control units in milliseconds. In doing so, it ensures the best damper settings in every driving situation. Even when leaning, a damping comfort which was not imaginable until now and a resulting constantly stable riding behaviour is achieved.

Legendary: the six-cylinder in-line engine. It makes every ride into pure enjoyment: with its unmatched running smoothness and power delivery, it reliably ensures the desired dynamics. Its 118 kW/160 hp and maximum torque of 175 Nm develop an incomparable and effortless thrust. In doing so, the smallest movement of the hand gives the K 1600 GT a good dose of controllability on tours: responding behaviour and handling from a thoroughbred.

The numerous special accessories such as adaptive headlight, keyless ride or central locking at the touch of a button ensure even more comfort, safety and in turn a relaxed ride. BMW Motorrad is the first motorcycle manufacturer to offer the optional "intelligent emergency call" ex works, an additional plus in terms of safety. Thanks to the reverse assistant, manoeuvring and getting out of parking spaces is effortless even on steep terrain. The shift assistant Pro ensures even more comfortable and dynamic up- and down-shifting. With the optional topcase, tank bag and touring cases to complement the generous standard stowage, there are several storing possibilities for everything you want to take with you. The following highlights provide you with the first proof of this, until you get to mount the beauty yourself.





INTELLIGENT EMERGENCY CALL
THE GOOD FEELING IS ALWAYS ALONG FOR THE RIDE.
BMW Motorrad is the first manufacturer to provide the "intelligent emergency call" ex works: a system fitted firmly on the handlebar, which in case of emergency can independently and automatically trigger the rescue chain and in doing so facilitate faster aid from the emergency services. The "intelligent emergency call" automatically becomes active following a light to heavy accident. But the rider can also manually trigger an emergency call at the push of a button, if for instance he/she has observed an accident. After activating the system, either automatically or manually, the GPS data of the location and the travel direction of the motorcycle is sent via mobile phone connection to a BMW call centre. From here, the rescue chain is activated. For fast, precise help. And a great feeling on every tour.





REVERSE ASSISTANT
SIMPLY REVERSE.
Steep paths and narrow space conditions at popular lookout points or parking spots are no issue with the convenient torque control assist (TCA). Leaving you with only a smile for parking and manoeuvring. The reverse assistant is activated simply by means of a switch on the left side of the handlebars, after which a corresponding reverse enablement is displayed on the screen. This way, you glide elegantly, effortlessly and safely out of the parking space, in order to then set off towards your next destination with ample momentum.





LIGHT.
MORE LIGHT. MORE SAFETY.
The standard xenon headlights are double as bright and consume 30 % less power than conventional halogen headlamps. They ensure consistent illumination of the road surface - particularly at night and with poor visibility. At the same time, they make you easier to be seen as well. A cylindrical bulb shield on the reflector prevents the light bulb from dazzling other road users.

The Adaptive Headlights, which is available as an optional accessory, optimally illuminates the road when negotiating bends. A servomotor in the main headlight compensates for the motorcycle's banking angle when cornering, orienting the light at the optimum angle for the road. For the rider, this represents an enormous increase in active riding safety, particularly when taking corners at night.

CHASSIS AND SUSPENSION.
FOR THE BEST ROAD CONTACT.
The standard Dynamic ESA once again significantly increases the first-class riding comfort of the K 1600 GT. It ensures the best traction, safety and the highest level of comfort:
Spring travel sensors at the front and back record in particular the vertical movement of the wheel alignment. Based on the data, the Dynamic ESA regulates the damping action depending on the riding conditions and riding manoeuvres automatically to match the determined circumstances. In doing so, it ensures significantly improved contact between road and tyre, even when in a lean. The result is a constantly stable riding behaviour and a significant gain in terms of comfort and safety – especially on long tours.

The standard setting "Road" – takes you comfortably over all unevenness. With the "Dynamic" setting, a generally firmer damping action is selected: for sporty dynamic riding.





SAFETY.
EXTRAORDINARY FEATURES FOR INCREASED COMFORT.
Keyless ride and central locking make your life easier and quickly become companions you won't want to do without.

The mechanical key will become superfluous and from now on you have your hands free – thanks to keyless ride. That awkward searching before the journey simply goes away and carrying your key in your jacket pocket is sufficient to unlock and start up your motorcycle. The central locking ensures that the contents of the storage compartments and additional cases are protected from thieving fingers when you lock your bike – all this simply by pressing a button on the handlebars. Enabling you to set out on an excursion after dismounting even faster.





COMFORT.
MOUNT AND ENJOY IN A RELAXED MANNER.
Whether you are touring or simply going for your daily ride, the installed cases and storage compartments on the K 1600 GT provide sufficient space for everything you need to store. From the day-to-day essentials, equipment to clothing, and even holiday mementos. The optional topcase impresses with its convenient interior and the interior lighting fitted as standard. Your passenger will love the small comfortable backrest.

Bearing the standard colours of the motorcycle, it is perfectly integrated into the dynamic look of the K1600 GT. The liners give you even more space and order for your touring case. With the carry handle and the – also removable – shoulder strap, it is the ideal companion for a cruise through town. PRO SHIFT ASSISTANT.
SHIFT LIKE IN RACING.
Almost a luxury – but particularly an expression of the dynamics of the K 1600 GT: the shift assistant was originally developed for racing. The Pro shift assistant, which was adapted for use in the touring sector, allows you to shift gears without using the clutch in almost any load or engine speed range. During acceleration, the throttle grip remains open and ensures swift and relaxed shifting. When downshifting with closed throttle grip, the system automatically provides double-declutching and uses this to downshift perfectly.

This ensures that your clutch hand is relieved and remains relaxed even after long tours. In addition, shift time is reduced as compared to a gearshift using the clutch: for even more dynamics and comfort.

Topcase

Brake disc lock with anti-theft alarm
The brake disc lock from BMW Motorrad is the ideal theft-proofing for the road. With an integrated alarm system as well as a cotter pin and housing made of specially hardened steel, the lock provides reliable protection from theft and from manipulation of the lock. In addition, its small size allows it to be easily stored.
